ZURICH, Switzerland - SR Technics, part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, has signed a contract with Qatar Airways for a full cabin reconfiguration and in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for seven Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
As part of this contract, new seating with Panasonic on-board entertainment and communication system will be installed. All work will take place in Zurich between November 2013 and July 2014.
SR Technics’ team comprised of engineering staff, cabin technicians maintenance personnel will install the new Panasonic IFE system eX2, offering audio and video on demand, games and other entertainment at the seat.
With the Panasonic global communications suite (GCS) system, passengers will have broadband and mobile phone connectivity.
The installation of an in-seat power system (ISPS) will allow recharging of electronic devices and the uninterrupted use of laptops on long-haul flights.
The contract with Qatar Airways underlines SR Technics’ strong track record in complex cabin modification programs and its international standing for flexibility, on-time delivery and world class service standards for high-end nose-to-tail airframe programs.
