Etihad Airways Announces New Germany General Manager

Etihad Airways, announced a new General Manager for Germany. Philip Lewin will lead the airline’s German sales and marketing operations, effective April 10 2012
Lewin has almost twenty years’ experience working in the airline industry, and joins the UAE flag carrier from American Airlines, where he has recently held the position of Country Manager India.
Etihad Airways President and Chief Executive Officer James Hogan said: “Etihad Airways’ operations in Germany are crucial to our network strategy.
“We have invested heavily in the German market and now operate 25 flights a week from three German hubs to Abu Dhabi, and onwards to more than 70 destinations throughout Africa, the Far East, Australasia and the Subcontinent.
“Following our recent strategic partnership with airberlin, improved connectivity over Abu Dhabi, and new route launches, we look forward to Philip taking up his strategically important role.
“He will be instrumental in achieving continued success in the months and years ahead.”

Since 2004 Etihad Airways has carried more than 1.8 million passengers on its German routes. The airline inaugurated flights to Munich in 2004, Frankfurt in 2006 and Düsseldorf in 2011. All destinations are served by daily flights*, with Frankfurt operating twice a day.
Etihad Airways also has its own first and business class lounges at Frankfurt International Airport. Etihad Airways operates 25 flights a week to and from Germany. This will increase to 28 flights per week from April 15, 2012.
