Dubai government owned Arabic daily Al Bayan reported on 9th of October 2011, that Emirate Airlines was successful in executing a transaction in the value of 650 million US dollars to acquire 2 Airbus A380 and 2 Boeing 777-300ER delivery  spans to March 2012.

Emirates Airlines authorised a banking group led by Deutsche Bank to manage the lease to purchase acquisition to cover a 12 year repayment period. The group includes National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Emirates NBD and other Asian and European banks.

In a separate mandate, Emirate Airlines authorized Emirates NBD, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Crédit Agricole and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, to arrange a "commercial loan" to acquire an additional 2 Boeing 777-300ER
