Job Description :- This role is available to Hong Kong residents or to those who have the right to work in Hong Kong.
- The Assistant Environmental Manager is expected to analyse sustainability risk and impacts, track and assess the airline’s sustainability performance, and to ensure compliance with emerging emissions trading and similar schemes.
Key Responsibilities:- Reporting/Communications
- Coordinate CX Group responses to new legislation, international sustainability indices/surveys and supplier questionnaires
- Research and report on international legislation to relevant departments in CX
- Support the Environmental Manager in engaging with relevant stakeholders
- Support the team in preparing for the annual Sustainable Development Report according to the GRI framework
Compliance- Collate and analyse operational performance metrics and fleet and fuel efficiency data
- Monitor progress against Sustainable Development commitments and targets across Group, in Hong Kong and outports
- Day to day management and preparation of CX response to environmental/carbon emissions regulation (and future similar processes) with relevant departments and ensure it is complete, timely and accurate, this is in conjunction with Environmental Projects Manager
Business Impact- Calculate costs of different emissions management measures
- Develop business scenarios in conjunction with Environmental Manager and relevant departments
- Coordinate the process of identifying and quantifying sustainable development risk management issues in conjunction with Environmental Manager
Project Management- Manage environmental projects as directed by Head of Environmental Affairs and Environmental Manager
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the carbon offset programme
- Support the Environmental Manager on the implementation of the CX Sustainable Development Strategy, working with different CX departments
Job Requirements :- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Management or related Minimum of 4 years business experience in an analytical role
- Excellent numeracy, quantitative and analytical skills
- Good interpersonal, project coordination/management skills
- Experience in reporting, environmental/sustainability work and knowledge of relevant international standards is an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written English ability; fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin a distinct advantage
- Understanding of the aviation industry and experience in auditing are distinct advantages as well
