Job Purpose:
The Flight Crew Employee Policy Development Manager will be responsible for the ongoing development of coherent Flight Operations (FOP) policies for the management of all pilots regardless of their country of employment. These polices must be developed in conjunction with local country managers to ensure that they are not only compliant with local legislation but also with current and future administration and management of local employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Making recommendations to Manager Flight Crew Employee Relations (MFCER) with regard to policy development.
- Monitoring all changes and adhering to legal requirements of each jurisdiction with respect to employee benefits and entitlements.
- Acting as point of contact for all FOP Employee Relations section Legal advice in relation to Policy Development & Compliance.
- Construction and maintenance of FOP Employee Relations legal advice data base.
- Supporting and participating in negotiations with Cockpit Crew Unions as required.
- Advising as required in relation to the contractual requirements of the various Conditions of Service, Collective and Enterprise Agreements and clarifying their content as necessary.
- Liaising with Outport HR teams in developing applicable policies in line with jurisdictional requirements.
- Developing compliant administrative procedures in each jurisdictional area and ensuring compliance.
- Representing the Company, the FOP Department or the Flight Crew Employee Relations section at standing and ad hoc meetings and committees.
- Liaising with Company operational and non- operational departments and recommending policy changes, adjustments, exceptions, waivers and development of policy and processes.
- Working with all FOP sections and recommending process changes and adjustments to gain efficiencies and manage cost.
- Conducting interline benchmarking research as and when required.
- Reviewing and maintain section documentation (e.g. Terms of Reference).
- Driving improvements within the Flight Crew Employee Relations Section.
- Providing ad hoc support to the Service Delivery Team.
Job Requirements :- University degree holder in Human Resources discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years Human Resources or relevant operational experience at management level, preferably with airline background.
- Good understanding of applicable employment legislation in various jurisdictions such as Australia, Canada, Europe and Hong Kong.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge and skills to manage several key tasks at once and to see projects to completion.
- Prepared to travel oversees frequently.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Fully conversant with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
