The Position:This role is available to Hong Kong residents or to those who have the right to work in Hong Kong.
We are seeking a high-calibre individual to join the Cargo Distribution Team. As the Assistant Manager – Cargo Distribution, you will assist to devise and execute cargo sales & distribution strategies, polices and business plans.
Key Responsibilities:1. Distribution Cost Control
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers and General Sales Agencies (GSAs).
- Assess head count requisitions from outports and make recommendations to Cargo Management.
- Prepare distribution cost budget and perform cost monitoring.
- Manage CASS (IATA Cargo Account Settlement System) implementations.
2. Electronic Channel Management and Development
- Perform supplier management.
- Work closely with Cargo E-Distribution Committee (members from HK and Outports), our Information Management Department (IMT), as well as suppliers to come up with future development plans for the e-channels (including flagship web-site for Cargo) and implement.
- Keep track on industry e-distribution trend and latest technology.
- Identify opportunity to improve efficiency or streamline end to end process through adoption of e-distribution tools.
3. Conventional Distribution Channel Management and Development
- Monitor and identify potential agency distribution risks and work with ports and Market Team to optimise business spread if necessary.
- Assist in reviewing and updating agency appointment policy including general guidelines; appointment contract templates and credit control measures.
- Work with outport Cargo managers on General Sale Agency selection, commercial terms negotiation and contract preparation.
- Review and update GSA appointment policy when required.
- Explore and capture opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service levels of worldwide cargo reservation teams.
4. Cargo Services Systems (CSS) Project
- Take part in the project to replace the core operating system for Cargo Department.
Job Requirements :- Tertiary education qualifications.
- Minimum 4 years airline commercial experience preferably in Sales & Distribution and/or Cargo related fields.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in spoken Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) would be a definite advantage.
- Excellent business acumen, negotiation, project management, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Sound planning and organization skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks within defined time constraints.
- Polished communication and interpersonal skills with experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and interacting with people at all levels.
- Good IT sense or IT / distribution related background would be a plus
- Meticulous on details especially relating to figures and contract terms.
- Willing to travel overseas as and when required.
