Job Purpose
Position holder expected to provide effective theoretical knowledge instruction to students as part of a flying training course, insure instructional materials are suitable and maintain discipline. Each Ground Instructor will be assigned specific subjects in which they specialize and are then known as Subject Matter Experts (SME’s)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct effective delivery of theoretical knowledge instruction of specialised subjects within given frameworks and to Horizon standard as delegated
- Ensure students conformity with training curriculum
- Provide feedback on student’s performance and progress
- Write / maintaining manuals / reports and documents as required by CGI
- Act as subject mentor for newly appointed GI’s
- Act as course mentor if appointed
- Insure teaching materials are suitable and available
- Monitor ground training processes and suggest improvement / corrective action
- Promote aviation safety culture
- Report non-compliance
- Correct misconduct of students
- Maintain attendance registers
- Complete extra duties as required by CGI
Qualifications
- Formal recognized Instructors course
- Knowledge, skills and Experience
- At least 2 years of full-time ground instruction at ATPL-level at a recognized FTO ( JAA/EASA experience would be an advantage)
- High level of subject matter knowledge in at least 4 subjects
