The Position:
This role is available to Hong Kong residents or to those who have the right to work in Hong Kong.
We are looking for a high caliber candidate with excellent analytical, investigation and leadership skills to join the Corporate Safety and Quality Department in Dragonair as Assistant Manager Airline Safety, Ground Operations and Cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily functions of the Airline Safety Team in the domain of Ground Operations, Ramp and Cargo Safety
- Conduct all Ground and Ramp safety MOR, Carriage of Dangerous Goods, Cargo spillage, serious incident and accident investigations in conjunction with the Ground Ops/Cargo Dept as required
- Develop and enhance the front line Ground and Ramp staff safety reporting system to ensure the free flow of safety related information in accordance with KA’s Just Culture policy
- Conduct proactive analysis of other operator’s Ground/Ramp/Cargo incidents and accidents to ensure KA has adequate defenses and systems in place to avoid similar risks
- Conduct a continuous threat, hazard and risk analysis on KA’s Cargo and Ground service operations and develop mitigating strategies to maintain a high standard of safety
- Monitor Ground/Ramp/Cargo safety corrective actions and trends with regular reviews and updates on Ground/Cargo service Key Safety Performance Indicators
- Promote Safety awareness and KA’s Just Culture policy amongst the ground, ramp and cargo staff community
- Conduct regular Ramp and Cargo handling inspections and observations at high threat ports, in particular at ports handling shipment of Dangerous Goods (DG)
- Assist to evaluate new technologies and procedures on carriage of DG to ensure KA meets the industry best practice
Job Requirements :- Tertiary level qualifications/Diploma holder in Science and Technology discipline
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience with at least 3 years experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of Ground, Ramp and Cargo operations procedures and activities
- Quality audit and/or ground accident investigation experience is an advantage
- Working knowledge/capabilities in risk assessment techniques and trend analysis desirable
- Good interpersonal skills with excellent command of both written and spoken English
- Chinese language ability, especially Mandarin is an advantage but not a must
- Computer literacy on Microsoft Office
